What is the Taliban?

To know the beginning of the Taliban, you need to know the etymology of the word teleban. The origin of Telenban's name is Pashto, which means a student.

The start of the Taliban began with a group formed by Islamic seminary Madrasa students to save Afghanistan in a serious civil war. Telaban's goal is to end the civil war in Afghanistan and build a holy state of Islam.

Their Islamic law is followed by Pashtunwali and their own interpretations because most of the teleban are Pashtun.

Teleban's Growth Background

Behind the rapid growth of the Taliban was the civil war in Afghanistan, with the early Taliban applying Islamic law at a relatively common level and strict discipline of their own. The Hajara hatred that the Pashtun people had was added to this, and it was able to grow quickly through the support of many people.

Teleban's Growth Background

With this power, they quickly took over Afghanistan and began to take over much of their land. From this point on, the Taliban began to turn into an anti-human group.

Is the Taliban a formal Islamic sect?

In large part, sects that follow Islamic law are divided into Sunni and Shia, and Telaban is known to belong to one Sunni tribe, but is actually classified as a pseudo.

Let's see why the Taliban are classified as pseudo!

Abu Hanifa, known as the origin of the Sunni Hanafi faction, said, "Women may expose parts of their bodies to male doctors when they are examined by doctors," but the Taliban interpreted the law, "Women cannot be doctors, nor can they be treated by male doctors."

According to Pashtun's common law, "We must protect women's honor and protect them from threats" and "Killing women basically violates the law." One more thing is stated: "If you see injustice, don't tolerate it and actively stop it."

The Taliban are reinterpreting the above into their own words, providing the so-called "honorful murder." The interpretation interpreted that it was unfair for a Pashtun woman and another tribal man to marry.

History of the Taliban

Let's look at the origin of the teleban first! Theological origin of Abull Allah Maududi was the starting point, and he was an Islamic fundamentalist from India.

Maudi Du said, "Women should not go out of the house unless necessary," adding, "Hands, faces, eyes and ears that are not covered by hijab can cause immoral behavior." But he is said to have lived on a good footing in New York City.

To sum up the history of the Taliban,

1. Formed in 1994 during the Afghan Civil War by Pashtun people.

2. He entered the capital Kabul in 1996 and ruled 90% of Afghanistan's territory.

3. In 2001, Osama bin Laden, the main culprit of the September 11 attacks, refused to seek extradition and fled to Pakistan due to the outbreak of a war between the U.S. and Afghanistan.

4. The 2003 U.S.-Iraq War broke out and U.S. interest in Afghanistan diminished.

5. The U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan in 2021 and occupied Afghanistan again.

Teleban declared victory, saying, "The war is over," as the U.S. regained Kabul, Afghanistan's capital, three months after the U.S. began its phased withdrawal. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country and withdrew from his homeland with diplomats from each country.

We looked at what kind of organization the Taliban is and what history it has. We can see what the people will suffer in the future as Afghanistan falls into the hands of the Taliban. Leaders from around the world are expressing concern and watching the situation.
